POC Fornix Mips – updated all-mountain helmet for long days on the mountain
Some helmets specialize in one scenario. The POC Fornix Mips is designed for all of them: piste, powder, changing weather, long tours. It doesn't restrict anything – it reliably protects, no matter where the day takes you.
POC has redesigned the interior of this generation. What has remained: the protection that the brand relies on. What has improved: fit, comfort, adjustability.
Mips – an argument even on the piste
The Mips rotational impact protection system (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) reduces shear forces that act on the brain during oblique impacts. Oblique impacts are more common than one might think – even on groomed slopes.
The internal system allows for a minimal, controlled rotational movement of the head upon impact. This redirects energy before it reaches the brain at full strength. No system protects against every fall. But Mips changes the physics precisely at the moments when it's relevant – and measurably so.
What has specifically improved
360° adjustment system with finely adjustable head ring. The redesigned system allows for a more precise fit adjustment than the previous generation. A helmet that fits optimally protects better – this is not a minor detail, but a design decision.
Thicker padding on the helmet rim and crown.More cushioning at the contact points between the helmet and the head. The difference isn't immediately spectacular – it shows after three or four hours on the slopes, when other helmets start to pinch.
Optimized inner lining.Improved fit, more even fit distribution, all-day comfort without pressure points.
In everyday use: earpads, chin strap, goggle clip
The Fornix Mips can be worn with or without earpads. The soft, flexible pads protect against cold and wind without compromising comfort. They can be removed in mild weather.
The chin strap with cycling-inspired adjusters is more finely adjustable than standard systems – and also works with gloves. The goggle clip securely fastens the mask to the helmet, even after hard landings. The adjustable ventilation allows the temperature inside the helmet to be adjusted if conditions change throughout the day.

Integrated Aramid bridges:The high-performance fiber material, known from ballistic protection applications, redirects sharp impact energy around the skull instead of letting it pass through. Relevant for falls involving edge contact, rocks, or ski pole contact.
This is not a feature you notice in use. It's the feature that works at the right moment.
Who is the Fornix Mips for?
For skiers and snowboarders who are regularly on the mountain and are looking for a helmet that reliably protects in every situation. Not specialized in freeride or racing – but suitable for both. A true all-mountain helmet, without restrictions and without a surcharge for extras that not everyone needs.
